Our club was founded in 1948 and has continued to
hold events every year up to the present time, we currently have a
membership of around 300. Usually our June show members who are class
winners qualify for the Premier Riding Club championships. Any changes
to this arrangement for the forthcoming year will be announced in due
course.

REGULATIONS &
INSTRUCTIONS TO COMPETITORS
1. Associate members - an associate member is a junior member
who wishes to compete in both junior and senior classes, due to height
of horse/ rider combination.
To be eligible for senior classes the junior member must pay full
senior membership and be competing on a horse exc. 148cms (14.2 hh).
Horse must be appropriate to the riders height. The junior must be
between the age of 13 yrs and 16 yrs to take up associate membership.
2. Trophies won at the September show 2005 must be returned
to a committee member by the August points show 2006 (not annual) at
the latest. A penalty of £10 plus the cost of extra telephone calls
and postage, will be levied on all late returns.
3. Trophies awarded at the presentation dance 2004 must be
returned to a committee member by the 25th october 2005 at the latest.

4. To receive a trophy at the September members show, members
must be paid up members by the June Points show and also must have
competed at two shows prior to the September show not to include the
annual show or the September show. To collect your trophy you must
present a valid membership card at the trophy tent.
5. Riders will not be allowed to take part in any
riding event, if not correctly dressed. Correctly secured British
standard skull caps/riding hats (Nos. Pas015, EN1384 or (USA)ASTMF1163)
must be worn at all times when mounted and secured by a three point
harness or riders will be excluded from all classes. THIS RULE WILL BE
STRICTLY ADHERED TO.
6. No objection can by placed without a £20 deposit
being placed with the secretary which will be forfeited if the
objection is not sustained. The objection must be placed in writing
to the secretary, providing full details. Any dispute as to the height
of a horse /pony shall be decided by a J.M.B. certificate supplied by a
veterinary surgeon, at the owners expense, to be produced by the owner
to the secretary within fourteen days.
7. In order to qualify for points awards, competitors
must have attended at least three points shows this season. The
combination of rider and horse/pony must have entered the respective
class on three occasions.
8. The judge`s decision is final.
9. The committee reserve the right refuse entries or combine
classes in the event of insufficient entries.
10. The committee reserve the right to make any alterations
to the classes, events programmes and times as may be necessary.
11. Entry fees must accompany the entry for dressage classes
or such entries will not be accepted.
12. No horse/pony may be ridden under the age of three
years at any event organised by the club.
13. Three year old horses/ponies may only be ridden in
flat classes.
14.In hand classes - the handler must be the
named on the entry form. Leading rein classes - the rider
must be named on the entry form.
15. Whips must not be used excessively on the show ground.
16. No entries will be accepted after the class sheet has
left the secretaries tent, except when stated on the schedule.
17. The organisers reserve the right to refuse any entry or
horse/pony, which they do not consider suitable in order to safeguard
the public and other competitors against accidents.
18. No competitor may enter two classes with similar start
times. All class timings are arranged for specific age group and
height, so any competitor missing a class by way of not complying with
the above will forfeit their entrance fee.
19. All members are asked to co-operate with the officers
and stewards of the club. Remember all help is on voluntary
basics and that should be respected.
20. A competitor may not return to a class if they have left
it to compete in another class except at the discretion of the judge
if this is not granted, the entry fee will be forfeited.
21. Junior members are not permitted to wear spurs.
22. Whips must not exceed 30 inches in length.
23. Club members should refrain from contacting the
secretary on the Saturday before a show.
24. In all leading rein classes the leader must be 16
years or over.
25. Children being shown on the leading rein are only
eligible to enter leading rein, first ridden, bonny pony and novelty
classes.
26. Minimum age for riders is 3 years old on the 1st
january in the current year.
27. Colts and stallions must only be handled by persons
over 14 years and are to be kept under control at all times or they
will be asked to leave the showground.
28. Stallions under 138cms may only be ridden by persons over
12 years. Stallions exceeding 138cms may only be ridden by persons over
14 years.
29. Colts and stallions may not enter young handler, lead
rein and first ridden classes.
30. Riders must not wear any ear-rings or other
jewellry.This rule must be adhered to for health and safety reasons.
31. All Blackpool and Fylde Horse Club events will be run in
accordance with B.S.P.S and ponies U.K. rules. Copies of which can be
obtained from the organisations concerned.
